Our Story
The Carson City Gathering Place was created from a simple yet meaningful vision: to offer a destination where people can step away from the rush of everyday life and fully immerse themselves in celebration, connection, and the natural beauty of Mid‑Michigan. What began as a quiet, wooded 40‑acre property and a former church summer camp for children, has been thoughtfully transformed into an experience‑driven venue where gathering isn’t just an event, but a feeling.
From the beginning, our goal was to create something different. Not a hotel. Not a traditional ballroom. But an all‑inclusive property where the guests of honor and their closest family and friends could stay together, celebrate together, and create memories in one meaningful place. That vision still guides everything we do.
Today, that original retreat has been reimagined with intention and heart. The Gathering Commons, once a peaceful church retreat area with cabins and campsites, is now a glamping‑inspired lodging experience offering simplicity, community, and comfort for guests. The historic chapel remains a cherished part of the property now serving as a warm, welcoming ceremony space with rustic charm and timeless character.
At the center of the property, the four‑suite Lodge provides a private sanctuary for the couple or guests of honor, creating a restful and elegant home base for the days surrounding their celebration.
Across all 40 acres, ceremonies unfold among the trees, receptions glow with warmth, and overnight stays extend the joy into a multi‑day gathering. Families reconnect, friends share stories under the stars, and couples begin their forever in a setting that feels natural, intimate, and entirely their own.
The Carson City Gathering Place isn’t just a venue. It is where stories are shared, memories are made, and celebrations become experiences that last long after the final toast. Opening in 2026, this will truly be your celebration destination for life’s most meaningful moments.
